All academic staff of Rhema University is encouraged to embark on translational research within their area of specialty for intellectual development, qualitative teaching, and product development. Funding is approved by the Senate Research Committee in the form of grants and research findings are presented for publication in SCOPUS-based journals.
All graduating students as a prerequisite for the award of degrees are required to embark on independent and original research projects.
At Rhema University, we encourage collaboration, interdisciplinary, multidisciplinary, and problem-oriented research approaches.
At Rhema University, 5% of the total recurrent expenditure is allotted to research on an annual basis.
The Senate Sub-Committee on Research – “Rhema University Research, Grants and Innovation Committee is charged with the following tasks: a. Vet research proposals and make recommendations to the Senate b. Source for additional funds for research activities. c. Ensure that funded research proposals achieve their stated objectives and that findings are published in a SCOPUS-based journal. d. Ensure that staff whose research efforts attract funding to the University are rewarded.

Rhema University staff members constantly engage in diverse research activities with different bodies across the globe. Over the years, some staff members have received grants from the Chan Zuckerberg Initiative (CZI) and The Genetics Society of America for research collaborations.
